About your photographer

I’m Ruthie–wife to Pete, mama to John & Isaac, and a photographer. I’ve also been a telemetry RN since 2010, and have a B.A. in French.

I love crisp fall afternoons, preferably rainy ones. I get carried away when it comes to Christmas decorations. (Is it wrong to be convinced you need a bigger house just for your Christmas tree collection?) If I don’t order my Starbucks chai latte under a simpler-than-Ruth/Ruthie pseudonym such as “Amy,” I end up walking around with a cup that says “Bruce” or “Lucy.” Which is ok, too. I love to laugh. Dumb and Dumber remains a classic favorite.

I got into photography as a way to indulge my creative side while in nursing school. (There isn’t much creative about Anatomy & Physiology.) Right now I don’t specialize in one type of photography. I love the details in a wedding–the flowers, the lace, the personal details that mean so much to a couple in love and so full of hope for the future. And I enjoy shooting newborns because they are so fresh, and because they bring love with them when they enter this world. Our kids change and grow so quickly–I get to provide memories of these long days before they become short years. If you think we’d be a good fit, contact me–I’d be honored to witness your memories and capture them for you to keep forever.
